History

1962

Erwin Hymer takes over the rights for the production of aluminium ladders from the aircraft manufacturer Dornier and starts manufacturing with Fritz Lang in Neumühle near Wangen on 1.7.1962.

1970

Construction of new site starts at Käferhofen.

1971

Introduction of the screwed stile-rung joint.
The Hymer trademark - the red stripe - is born.

1974

Start of production of equipment for buses.

1984

Start of production of components for the caravanning industry, such as roof galleries, windows, bike racks and access ladders.

2004

Opening of the Michalovce site in Slovakia and foundation of the joint venture FarHym in Turkey.

2014

Opening of the site in Neustadt i. Sachsen in Germany for the production of system components for vehicules.

2016

Complete takeover of the joint venture Farhym in Turkey.

2019

Opening of the new 5000 m² factory building at the Wangen site.
